I know what you’re thinking… “I want to find a beautiful location near me for my senior photos, but I don’t want it to look like everyone else’s photos.” Choosing the location(s) for your senior portrait session can be a daunting task, I know. I’m here to help with that!!

Before I share my favorite spots, I would highly recommend that you are clear in telling your photographer what your vision is!! This will ensure that you’re not only choosing the right location, but you end up with photos that you LOVE! I love to create shared Pinterest boards with my girls so I can see exactly what kind of location and vibe they are going for.

There is a very wide variety of locations in Arizona (they’re not all in the desert!) and I’m here to give you my top favorites!

Sunset Point

This location is your classic golden field for senior photos. It might take a little longer to get to than most locations, but the views are so stunning!! Depending on the time of year, the field will be green or bright gold. This field is placed on rolling hills that go on for miles. You can stop at the rest stop here and get photos with some beautiful mountains behind you!

Saguaro Ranch Park

This historical park is a favorite among my clients. There are multiple brick and siding buildings that cover the property. There is a bridge, a flower garden, beautiful stairs, and an orange tree grove. This spot has so much variety which makes it very popular. You can also find peacocks, bunnies, and chickens roaming around while you take your photos!

Nearby Fields

Depending on the time of year, you can find flower, grass, wheat, or hay fields which are all perfect for photos! These fields are perfect if you are wanting wide open spaces, simple, and clean photos. This is a relatively easy location to scout out for yourself! Keep your eye out as you’re driving around and you’ll be surprised at how many pretty fields there are around.

Phoenix Botanical Garden

I’m sure you’ve seen these iconic cactus photos of the botanical garden in Phoenix. This location is filled with all sorts of Arizona native plants and trees. There are also flower beds, a bridge and an outdoor green house structure. The only downside to this location is the fee that is required to enter. Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch

This location has nine beautiful ponds scattered throughout the property, as well as a grassy area, and a saguaro cactus garden. It is a very popular spot for photos because of how much variety there is throughout the preserve. I’ve shot here very frequently and love this spot!!

Desert Locations

You can’t find a location that represents Arizona better than the beautiful desert! I have many different desert locations that I like to shoot at, and it is such a popular location amongst my clients. There are so many pretty mountain backdrops you can find around the valley like Superstitions, White Tanks, Salt River Mountains, and South Mountain. You can’t go wrong with taking photos with the tall cacti!

Downtown Phoenix

Downtown Phoenix has a lot of cool architecture options to choose from. One thing my seniors love are rooftop photos. You can find so many unique spots and the cityscape is beautiful at sunset!

One thing is for sure… there is a location for you. If you think finding green locations is impossible, think again. Make sure to reach out to your photographer early so you can make sure to get to these locations when the flowers are blooming and the grass is green!

I have SO many other great locations that I love to go to!
